IS YOUR SCHOOL ACCREDITED BY THE STATE?
No. We are a private non-profit school operating under a religious organization. We are not required to be accredited by the state. This does not mean, however, that the quality of our academic program is lower than that of state schools. In comparison, our curriculum is equal to, or in some cases higher than, that of state accredited schools. Our staff and school is sponsored by Accelerated Christian Education, Inc. and it is their curriculum that is used as our base curriculum. You may check out their website for more information. www.aceministries.com
IF I GRADUATE FROM LIBERTY ACADEMY, WILL I STILL HAVE TO GET A MISSOURI G.E.D.?
No. Our graduation diplomas have been consistently accepted by post-high school institutions such as community colleges, universities, trade schools, etc., as well as places of employment. Here is a sample of places where our graduates have gone.
- Jefferson College, Hillsboro, MO
- St. Louis College of Health Careers
- Hillsdale College, Moore, OK
- Texas Tech University, Lubbock, TX
- Hickey College, St. Louis, MO
WILL A STATE SCHOOL ACCEPT TRANSCRIPTS AND CREDITS FROM YOUR SCHOOL?
Elementary Students who have transferred from Liberty Academy to a state school in the past have done so with relative ease. This has not been always been the case with high school students. Some have transferred with most or all credits being accepted by another private or state school. Some state schools have required testing before accepting our high school credits, while in one case a students credits were not accepted by a state school.
However, we accept all transcripts and credits from both public and private schools.
IN YOUR DUAL ENROLLMENT PROGRAM, WILL A STATE HIGH SCHOOL ACCEPT THE CREDITS THAT ARE EARNED FROM YOUR SCHOOL?
You should check with your school counselor. We have designed our Dual Enrollment Program so that when a student reaches their credit goal, they receive a regular diploma from our Academy, rather than taking a chance that a public school will accept the credits. Once they receive a diploma from Liberty Academy, they are then eligible to pursue employment or post-high school education. Many colleges will require some sort of entrance exam such as the S.A.T. or A.C.T.
